No surprises

Your first visit, in four frames

You don’t need to know anything, bring anything or wear anything special.

  1. Step 1: Warm Welcome

Arrive as you are. No dress code, no prerequisites. Someone greets you at the door to show you around.

  2. Step 2: Settle Comfortably

Shoes stay at the rack. Sit comfortably on soft carpeting or chairs, whatever suits your body.

  3. Step 3: Music, Talk & Silence

Soulful devotional music, practical spiritual discourse, followed by quiet meditation. Feel free to simply listen.

  4. Step 4: Warm Community Langar

Many gatherings end with a fresh vegetarian meal shared with the community. Always complimentary.

What we offer, in plain English

Three things, all free

  • Meditation(Brahm Gyan: direct inner perception)

Not guided imagery and not a mantra to repeat: practitioners are shown how to perceive an inner light and sound directly, then verify it in daily practice.

    How it works
  • Community gatherings(Satsang)

Weekly talks on living a calmer, kinder life, devotional music, quiet reflection and a shared vegetarian meal. Online every week and in person at our centers.

    This week’s gatherings
  • Service to society(Sewa)

Twelve humanitarian programs, from addiction recovery and prison reform to girls’ education, preventive health and disaster relief.

Our founder and guide

His Holiness Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji

His Holiness Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji founded Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan with a simple conviction: the peace people search for outside already lives within, and it can be experienced directly, not just believed in.

Under his guidance, the Sansthan’s mission is “from self-awakening to global peace”: inner transformation first, and from it, service that changes society.

Straight answers

What newcomers ask first

Is this a religion?

No. DJJS doesn’t ask anyone to change or give up their faith. The meditation is offered as an experience you verify for yourself, independent of language, cultural background or blind faith, and people of every faith and of none take part.

Does it cost anything?

No. Initiation into meditation, daily practice and all spiritual programs of the Sansthan are completely free of cost. Donations are optional and go to community meals and humanitarian work.

What is Brahm Gyan?

Brahm Gyan is the name of the meditation DJJS teaches. In English we call it direct inner perception: rather than imagining or reciting, a practitioner is shown how to perceive an inner light and inner sound directly. It is revealed at initiation by a perfect living Master, His Holiness Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji, and each seeker then verifies it in their own meditation.

What happens on a first visit?

You’ll be welcomed at the door, leave your shoes at the shoe rack, and join a gathering of talks, music and quiet reflection, usually followed by a free vegetarian meal for everyone. No experience, special clothing or posture is needed, and you’re welcome to just watch.
